WORKSHOP BY CIVIL DEFENCE DEPTT. CONDUCTED IN JK COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

  

  

  

 

One day Civil Defence demonstration was organized in JK College of Education by Civil Defence Department, Jammu. Mr. Sarwar Chauhan, Comdt., Home guards, Civil Defence and Auxillary Police was the chief guest on the occasion. He shared his experience in the service and also briefed the students about the mission of these demonstration and training.
          Brig. Retd. Sukhdev Singh , Director, JK Educational Society mentioned the immense contribution of the department in the crisis situation. Ms. Shashi Chaudhary, Principal, JK College of Education, was also present on the occasion

 
JK COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED RANGOLI MAKING AND CARD MAKING COMPETITIONS ON THE OCCASION OF "BASANT PANCHMIB" ON 28th Jan,2012.

  

  

 

JK College Of Education organized Rangoli making and card making competitions on the occasion of “Basant Panchmi” on 28th Jan,2012.. The students participated in the events with full enthusiasm and vigour. They made beautiful rangoli and cards which were appreciated by one and all. Addressing on the occasion, Ms. Shashi Chaudhary, Principal , congratulated the students for Basant Panchmi. The students came in yellow dresses on the day.

 
JK COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISED INTERCOLLEGIATE COMPETITION ON THE THEME "SAVE OIL YANI SAVE MONEY"

  

  

 

JK College of Education organized intercollegiate competition on the theme “Save Oil Yani Save Money” in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. on 25 January,2012. The programme started with the welcome address by Ms. Shashi Chaudhary, Principal, JK College of Education. She welcomed Mr. R.K. Shaheb, D.M. , IOCL Jammu. The series of competition was conducted including poster making, essay writing, quiz and symposium.

 
WEEK LONG ENVIRONMENT CAMPAIGN CONCLUDES IN J.K. COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

Week Long Environment Campaign was being observed by “Nurture the Nature” club of J.K.College of Education from 21st November, 2011 to 26 November 2011, in collaboration with WWF, University of Jammu, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India, under “Green India Mission”. On the concluding day, Sh.C.M.Seth, Chairperson, WWF, University of Jammu was the chief guest.

GUEST LECTURE ON "GO GREEN" ORGANIZED BY J.K.COLLEGE OF EDUCATION.

J.K.College of Education organized Guest Lecture on 23rd, November 2011, by Ms. Sandhya Kala, on Active Environmentalist, under week long Environment Awareness campaign in collaboration with WWF University of Jammu and Ministry of Environment & Forest, Government of India. The lecture was concluded with the presentation of vote of thanks by Ms. Yashu Jain, Faculty Member and President of “Nurture the Nature” club.

INTER SCHOOL/COLLAGE POSTER MAKING/SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION ORGANIZED IN J.K.COLLEGE OF EDUCATION.

J.K. College of Education organized Slogan Writing /Poster Making competition on 23rd ,November 2011, in collaboration with W.W.F. University of Jammu ,Ministry of Environment and Forest , Government of India in lieu of week long “Environment Awareness Campaign” .

ESSAY WRITING COMPETITITON HELD BY J.K COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

 J.K College of Education organized Essay writing Competition” on 22nd November 2011, in the Government Middle School, Bandurakh in collaboration with WWF, University of Jammu and Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India.

J.K.COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANIZES PUBLIC MEETING AT BANDHURAKH VILLAGE.

A public Meeting was organized by J.K College of Education in the adopted village Bandurakh on 21st November, 2011, under week long environment campaign in collaboration with W.W.F, University of Jammu and Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India.

ELOCUTION CONTEST HELD IN J.K COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

English club of J.K College Of Education organized elocution competition in the college premises under the guidance of Ms. Gurmeet Kour, lecturer in teaching of English on 16th November 2011.

J.K COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANIZES VISIT TO BAHU FORT AND AQUARIUM

J.K College of Education organized a visit  to Bahu Fort at Bagh-e-Bahu by Social Studies Club on 15 November,2011. The main objective of this visit was to make B.Ed students realize the importance of historical places. Ms. Shallu Gupta, Lecturer in Teaching of  Social Studies  briefed the students about the history of Bahu Fort and Maha Kali Mandir
Students visited aquarium as part of Science Club activity under the supervision of Ms. Renuka Kapoor, Lecturer in Teaching of Science.

CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATED IN J.K COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

J.K Group Of Colleges celebrated Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru’s birth anniversary on 14th November 2011. Ms. Mamta Malhotra, Senior Lecturer of the College informed the students about the significance of celebrating this day. She emphasized that we should try to eradicate child labour, if we want to celebrate childrens’ day in true sense.

Counseling Session held in JK College of Education

JK College of Education organized counseling session by Dr. Chand Trehan, an eminent psychologist on “Importance of Counseling and Positive strokes” on 12th Nov,2011. She interacted with B.Ed students about positive thinking. Positive attitude is the key for happy life. One has to look for the good things in one’s life rather to highlight sorrows and failures

GURPURAB CELEBRATIONS

Gurupurab, The Prakash Utsav Of Shri. Guru Nanak Dev Ji, falling on 10th November 2011 was celebrated by J.K. Group Of Colleges in the premises of J.k. College Of Education. The programme started with the Shabd recitation by the B.Ed. students. Brig. Sukhdev Singh, Director, J.K. Educational Society congratulated the students on the eve of Gurupurab and urged them to follow the teachings of Guru Sahib and live a simple and pure life.

ANTAKSHRI COMPETITION ORGANIZED IN JK COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

Hindi Literary Club organized  Antakshri Competition on 8th of Nov, 2011. The students participated in the event enthusiastically. The students were divided in to two groups ’A’ and ‘B’. Group ‘B’ won the competition. .The Antakshri was based on Idioms and Phrases(Muhavaras and Lokokties). Ms. Urmil Mehta, Lecturer in teaching of Hindi expressed her happiness on the spirit of students in participating in this event. Mentioning the significance of organizing such event. She spoke that it is an effort to familiarize students with the Idioms and Phrases of the Hindi language. Ms. Neelam Mahajan was the judge on the occasion, who appreciated students zeal and zest for the event.

J.K. COLLEGE OF EDUCATION CONDUCTS WORKSHOP ON "PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS AND LOW COST TEACHING AIDS"

A workshop on “Psychological Tests and Low Cost Teaching Aids” was conducted in JK College of Education on 4 November, 2011, where teachers from different schools & colleges namely J.K. Public school  Kunjwani, J.K. Public school, Panjtirthi, Govt. Middle school Bandhurakh, Tiny Tots School, Kunjwani, J.K College of B.B.A and B.C.A., took part. The workshop started with welcome address by Ms. Mamta Malhotra, Senior lecturer of the college, wherein she mentioned the purpose of conducting this workshop.

JK College of Education pays tribute to the Iron lady Mrs. Indira Gandhi

Mrs. Indira Gandhi the first women prime minister of India was rememebred on her death anniversary on 31 st Oct. 2011 ,by the students and faculty memebrs of JK College of Education. Ms. Mamta Malhotra, Faculty member of the college in her address highlighted the contribution of Mrs. Gandhi in the upliftment of status of women as well as progress of the nation. Ms. Yashu Jain, Faculty Member urged the students to be as strong as her and be a role model the the soceity. Ms. Neelam Mahajan, another faculty member remembered her for her dedication and determination towards the service of nation. The students observed silence for one minute as a mark of respect towards her.

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

Diwali Celebration were held by JK Group of Colleges on 24th October,2011 with great zeal & enthusiasm. This celebration was one of the most exciting & memorable event celebrated in the campus of JK College of Education.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME HELD IN J.K. COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

JK college of education started its academic session of B.Ed for the session 2011-12 on 20th October 2011. The programme started with the welcome address by Ms. Mamta Malhotra. Senior lecturer of the college. Interacting with the students, Brigadier Sukhdev Singh, Director, J.K. Educational Society, highlighted the facilities provided to the students in the college and urged them to exploit the facilities so as to become the promising teachers. Ms. Urmil Mehta briefed the students about the general rules and regulations. Ms. Meera Sharma, Chief librarian, threw light on the library facilities and rules to the students. The programme will be continued  for another two sessions to make the students familiar with the curriculum of B.Ed. programme.

HIND DIWAS

Jk College of Education observed Hindi Diwas on 14th Sep., 2011.Hindi Lecturer Ms. Urmil Mehta discussed the importance of Hindi Language in the present scenario.

BLIND SCHOOL VISIT

 Students of JK College of Education were interacted with the blind students at Amphala, Jammu on 31st August ,2011. The donation by staff members & students the college was given for the construction work of the school premises.

NAAC PEER Team visited JK College of Education

NAAC PEER Team visited JK College of Education on 2nd & 3rd May,2011 to Accredited the College. The team was consisted of Prof. Ramaiah, Prof. N.P. Bansal, &Prof.  C.S Sharma appreciated the infrastructure of the college.

International Women’s Day

College celebrated International Women’s Day to portray the power of women in the modern era and how vital their role is in the society.

Yog Shivir

Yoga as a way of life is an immortal art, science and philosophy. College organized a Yoga Shivir in collaboration with “Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan” on the topic “Need of Yoga in Modern times”.

National Science Day

An exhibition was held in which the working models on different topics made by the students were displayed.

Guest Lecture

College organized a guest lecture on “Employment Skill” in collaboration with Adult and Continuing Education, University of Jammu. Mr. Vishal Ray, Associate Faculty, Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute enlightened the students about the prerequisites for getting good and suitable job with an impressive power point presentation.

BASANT USHERS IN COLOUR AND FRAGRANCE

A Saraswati Puja was performed to seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati
On this occasion, Rangoli making and Kite making competitions were organized.

WORKSHOP ON LANGUAGE LAB.

A workshop on language lab was conducted in college where the faculty members were given training in operating system and were also briefed about the benefit of using technology in language learning.

Alumni shared their experiences with the students of current batch and thanked the Principal and Staff for their unconditional support.

VISIT TO BAHU FORT

Visit to Bahu Fort was organized by Social Studies Club to acquaint with the students the importance of historical place.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE IN LEPROSY HOSPITAL

Faculty members and students visited to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital.Students conducted a cleanliness drive in the premises of the hospital and interacted with the leprosy patients.

Inter College Competition on Declamation, Article Writing and Painting on ‘Save Oil Yaani Save Money’. Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Director, Distance Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest.

Republic Day CelebratIONS

Interactive session ON CO-EXISTENCE: YOUTH PERSPECTIVE

In collaboration with Adult and Continuing Education, University of Jammu, college organized an interactive session.Mrs. Rita Jitender, Former Principal, Govt. Degree College and Mrs. Veena Gupta, Former Principal, Govt. Women College, were the resource persons.

Traffic Week

College participated in international traffic week at Kunjwani  chowk.Students made the people aware about the traffic rules and motivated them to follow the rules &regulations.

Workshop On World AIDS DAY

Four different groups were formed on the topics like causes and prevention, curriculum Development, Stigma of the disease and Role of Education in preventing the spread of the dreadful disease.
Faculty members and the students gave valuable information about the dreadful disease and stressed that it is only the education which can help in the eradication of this disease from the society.

WORKSHOP ON SMART CLASS

A workshop on Smart Class was organized for the pupil teachers to acquaint them with the latest technology in the field of education.
Ms. Pankaj Jamwal, Manager, EduComp Solution, gave all the required information regarding the relevance of Smart Class in Teaching Learning Process.

COMMUNAL HARMONY WEEK

a) Inter College Debate Competition (Do the Political Parties contribute to Communal Harmony or do they Exploit Communal Differences to Achieve their Political Goals?)

Competition was adjudged by Dr. Renu Nanda, Department of Sociology, University of Jammu, Brig. (Retd.) Sukhdev Singh, Director, J.K Educational society and S.C Khajuria, Administrative Officer, J.K Educational Society.

b) Visit to Village Bandhu Rakh

Students enlightened the villagers about the importance of maintaining communal harmony. The Sarpanch and other members of the villagers appreciated the efforts of the staff and the students.

c) GUEST LECTURE ON COMMUNAL HARMONY WEEK

Prof. Rekha Chowdhary, Department of Political Science, University of Jammu enlightened the students about the importance of a democratic country and a multi-cultural society. She quoted " A communal mind can create a communal teacher and an emancipated mind can create an emancipated teacher".

d) Visit to Red Ribbon Express

N.S.S Group visited Red Ribbon Express at Jammu Railway Station.

Students of college highlighted the contribution made by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

The students presented a colourful programme including a skit, group dance, group song, solo songs and solo dance performances.

CELEBRATIONS OF GANDHI JAYANTI

College observed International Day of Non-Violence and Peace.Staff members and students took a solemn pledge of non-violence and peace and promised to follow the footsteps of Gandhi ji.

Workshop on Teacher Quality

A workshop on “Teacher Quality” was held in college. Ms. Chand Trehan a counsellor was the resource person. She dealt with two topics “How to be an effective teacher” and “Adolescence related Issues”.

VISIT TO LEPROSY HOSPITAL

On the eve of Independence Day J.K College of Education organized a cleanliness drive in Rajiv Gandhi Leprosy Hospital Gangyal Jammu.
N.S.S volunteer cleaned the campus of the hospital and also presented a small cultural programme for the leprosy patients.

CHETNA ABHIYAN

For the community development, J.K College of Education organized “Chetna Abhiyan” in Bandhu Rakh Village to acquaint the villagers of the ways of getting rid of social evils like Dowry System, Gender Bias, Drug Addiction.

An Inter – College Model Making Competition held in college.Students from different B.Ed colleges participated in the competition.The competition was judged by Mrs. Kiran Luthra, Principal Dogra College of Education and Mrs. Shashi Chaudhary, Principal J.K College of Education.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE

The N.S.S Unit of J.K College of Education organized a cleanliness drive at Bandhu Rakh Village. The N.S.S volunteers visited the village adopted by the college.

POPULATION EDUCATION

Population Education Club of the college organized a Guest Lecture titled “Education the only answer to India’s Population Explosion and Chaos”.

A College Picnic to the resort “Country Inn” at Katra was organized for the students on 13th February 2010.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS

As part of nation wide Republic Day Celebrations J.K College of Education organized an impressive function to create awareness among the “teachers of tomorrow’ about the struggle and sacrifices made by our forefathers to achieve independence and make India a constituent Republic. The staff and the students pledged to fight terrorism and thwart the nefarious design of our enemies by remaining united.The speeches were followed by singing of patriotic songs and everyone joined in reciting the national song “Vande Mataram”.
